Our hospital
The Advanced Care Hospital of White County provides a team approach to caring for seriously ill patients in a positive, healing environment. As one of only eight long-term acute care hospitals in Arkansas, we serve patients from throughout Arkansas and neighboring states. Our 27-bed long-term acute care facility is located inside Unity Health Specialty Care in Searcy, Arkansas.
A note to families
We are here to fill a need in the community and, more importantly, in your family. As a long-term acute care facility, our certified hospital offers specialized care for patients who are seriously ill with complex medical needs. Our family-centered team approach to long-term treatment is proven to provide the best quality of care for each patient. As partners in healing, our care team works with you to identify, plan and implement the care plan tailored for you or your loved one. Also, I am proud to share that our infection rates are among the lowest in the state and nation. With guidance from our physicians, our care team includes nurses; aides; dietitians; physical, respiratory, occupational and speech therapists; pharmacists and social workers. This multidisciplinary approach involves caregivers from every department of our hospital to address the serious illness(es) of each patient. Our friendly and compassionate team of medical professionals believes in offering a positive atmosphere as an important part of the healing journey. No one can share that journey better than the patients themselves. Another aspect that makes our hospital unique is our visiting hours policy. We welcome one family member or caregiver to stay in the room with the patient on a full-time basis. As one of only eight long-term acute care hospitals in the state, our 27-bed hospital is conveniently situated in Searcy, Arkansas, just off U.S. Highway 67/167. With minimal traffic in the surrounding area, our hospital is easily accessible from the highway. Advanced Care Hospital offers intensive medical care in a healing environment for patients to provide them treatment they need to return home or progress to the next healthcare setting. Whether you have been referred to Advanced Care Hospital or you are trying to determine the right place for your loved one, here are some answers that may help.
Short-term hospitals are ideal for patients who can typically recover in less than one week and may not have a complex medical condition. Patients who may stay in the hospital for an extended period of time and have more serious illnesses need long-term care. The average stay at a short-term hospital is about five days, whereas the average length of stay at the Advanced Care Hospital is 25 days.
Our hospital uses a multidisciplinary approach to caring for patients with complex medical conditions. A team of physicians, nurses, aides, dietitians, therapists, pharmacists and social workers strive to create and provide individualized care and healing for each patient.

To help each patient reach their fullest potential for living, Advanced Care Hospital offers therapies for individual needs, including:

The length and frequency of daily therapy sessions depends on the patient's specific plan of care and their tolerance level.
We believe cleanliness keeps our patients, their families and guests safe. In addition to giving the best in patient care, infection control is a top priority. Rooms are disinfected through the use of ultraviolet devices. Infection protocols are implemented and monitored using guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We are happy to share our current infection control rates with you to compare with rates of other facilities.
The private rooms offer a comfortable space for patients and their families. Certain rooms have lifts built into the ceiling to assist our staff. The lifts help the team mobilize patients weighing up to 750 pounds.
Friendly faces greet patients, families and guests at the nurse’s station and a common sitting area just down the hall. There is also a chapel, cafeteria, gift shop and garden area on the premises available to our families and guests.
Advanced Care Hospital accepts Medicare, most Medicare Advantage plans and most forms of private insurance.

Patients may return home or move to an inpatient rehab, skilled nursing center, or an assisted-living residence.
