Community health programs

Healthworks, a comprehensive health promotion program, is a partnership between Unity Health and area businesses, industries, schools and senior groups. Healthworks offers health and wellness screenings, disease prevention programs, safety training and worksite wellness education. More than 130 community businesses receive a variety of services at nominal costs as well as complimentary monthly blood pressure checks, immunizations, total wellness screenings, hepatitis A and B immunizations, safety education, prostate cancer screenings, spirometry, hearing and vision screenings, and tuberculosis skin tests.

Healthworks manages the hospital and community cardiopulmonary resuscitation program (CPR) with 60 instructors who use the American Heart Association guidelines.

K.C. Koala appearances

To emphasize the importance of health and exercise for children, K.C. Koala, the hospital's mascot, promotes health and wellness through special appearances at local schools and childcare centers.
