The Unity Health Internal Medicine Residency Program is dedicated to educating and preparing our residents for impressive careers in primary care internal medicine.

We're extremely proud of our ACGME-accredited program's comprehensive curriculum and the strong foundation of teamwork our faculty creates. Explore more about our three-year program and discover how you can join our dedicated team of internal medicine residents.

Program director's welcome letter

Welcome to the Unity Health Internal Medicine Residency Program. I am delighted that you are interested in joining our residency program.

My goal as the Internal Medicine program director is to prepare physicians to independently practice and deliver innovative, high-quality patient-centered internal medicine in a supportive academic environment. Together with my colleagues, we foster an open, family-friendly program that promotes growth for our residents.

Despite our smaller size, we stand out from other programs due to the tremendous number of resources at our disposal. As the largest employer in an eight-county area with multiple clinical sites, Unity Health allows our residents to rotate at a variety of sites in order to enhance their outpatient clinical medical education and increase their exposure to a wide range of specialties. I encourage you to learn more about the amazing resources we offer under the curriculum section of this page.

I am honored to work with a faculty and administration committed to establishing a tradition of clinical excellence. I encourage you to learn more about our program and reach out with any questions!

Curriculum

Our didactic curriculum includes MKSAP (ACP), Yale Office Curriculum, Medstudy Audio Companion and Rosh Review. We expose our internal medicine residents to a diverse range of pathology through one-on-one subspecialty rotations at a variety of medical sites.

In addition to the block schedule below, internal medicine residents have access to:

  • A dedicated radiologist teaching conferences and an ultrasound course for the program
  • Night float rotations one month per year instead of overnight calls
  • Procedural experience starting in PGY 1. Residents may perform central lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tubes, arterial lines and lumbar punctures
  • A full simulation lab with procedures and ACLS scenarios
