Unity Health Teaches Kindergarteners how to be Health Centered

Community news | Monday, April 8, 2019

McRae Elementary School recently received a visit from the Unity Health — White County Medical Center mascot, K.C. Koala, and learned about the importance of living health-centered. Kindergarteners participated in a presentation about how to eat, drink, play and live well.

Students were able to participate in pretending to give shots, listen to a heartbeat through a stethoscope, and how to make healthy choices. Associates of Unity Health worked multiple stations as students rotated through the cafeteria to hear various lessons.

K.C. Koala is a teaching tool to help students understand the fundamentals of health and safety.
