At Unity Health, we are tremendously proud of our Graduate Medical Education (GME) department, which organizes five resident physician programs approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Based in Searcy, Arkansas, residents work at a variety of Unity Health locations, such as:
- White County Medical Center
- Specialty Care campus
- Newport campus
- Searcy Medical Center
- Clarity Health and Wellness

Thank you for your interest in the Unity Health Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs. Our mission is to improve the health of the people and communities we serve by educating and preparing physicians through curricula that reflect an appropriate balance of patient care, education and research.
With more than 90 Unity Health physician faculty — representing a broad range of specialties — and 84 residents, the GME is the most diverse department in our organization. In addition to the expert Unity Health physicians, residents also rotate with physicians from outside clinics and hospitals such as the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children's Hospital.
To further their education, we also organize lectures on various topics such as:
- Evidence-based medicine and research
- Journal Club
- Morbidity and mortality
- Procedures labs
- Simulation labs
- Specialty-specific medicine
As a relatively new program, we've had three classes graduate. Of our 27 graduates, 26% have gone on to specialty fellowships, and Unity Health has retained 19% as both attending and faculty physicians. We are proud of the strides our programs have made and look forward to the future achievements of our residents, faculty and staff.
