Graduate Medical Education Committees

At Unity Health, our residents have the opportunity to participate in several Graduate Medical Education specific committees, including Resident Council and Diversity and Inclusion.

Resident Council

Resident Council meets once a month and is made up of representatives from each program that are selected by their peers. The council is intended to encourage all residents to communicate, exchange information and express general concerns with other residents about their Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) - accredited programs and their learning environment. The council serves as a liaison between residents and the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC).

The GME Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The GME Diversity and Inclusion Committee is a task force of administration, faculty and residents who are committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion within the institution. Members help bring about cultural, ethical and social changes. The committee meets once a month and each member is encouraged to bring ideas to the table. Some of the projects the committee has been working on include creating a Women in Medicine Leadership Group and a Quality Improvement Project entitled “Promoting Interpretation Services.”
